Obituary for Peter Jay Guth

Peter J. Guth, 58, Green Bay, passed away quietly Wed., Sept. 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving parents, partner and son. Peter was born Oct. 15, 1958 in Sturgeon Bay to Gerald (Jerry)(Mary Lou) (Paul) Guth who live in Algoma.
Other survivors include his son Jared Koskela, Portland, OR; Donna Haffeman, the love of his life and have been together for 27 years, his beloved dog and friend, Willy, his siblings and their families Jamie Guth (Franco Pagnoni), Switzerland, and her two sons Galen (Kathryn) Bilgen and Brendan Bilgen; Jody Guth (Duffy Epstein), Portland, OR, and her son Eric Guth; twin sister Peggy (Dirk) Wellbrock, Portland, OR; Steve (Otto) (Leslie) Guth, VT, and their children Sarah and Tyler; and Andy (Karen) Guth, New Franken, and their children Jake and Alex; two great nieces Emilie and Carolyn Bilgen. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Clarence Guth and Oleavia (Otto) Guth Krohn, maternal grandparents Joseph and Luella Paul, uncle and aunts Raymond Paul, Gloria Paul, Linda DeMeuse and Betty Guth.
Peter graduated from the Algoma High School where he excelled in any sport he was involved in. At just 5 feet 6 inches he was a giant on the high school basketball court. His agility and speed allowed him to run circles around the big guy. He played baseball all through high school with his dad as the coach. Peter was also on the 1974 Championship football team. Peter went on to graduated from the University of LaCrosse. He was voted the most valuable player in baseball for the Lakeshore League. We all thought Peter would become a teacher but he used his people skills and charm at the Stadium View in Green Bay for 13 years. Peter was an avid runner and did the Bellin Run for many years. He also loved to ski and do acrobatics even before that became popular.
Peter spent the last several days at Bellin Hospital in hospice care. He was a great partner, son, brother and father and will be sadly missed. Our comfort is knowing that he is no longer in pain and at peace.
