Obituary for Lisa Elizabeth Bongle

Lisa E. Bongle closed her pretty blue eyes for the last time at 2:30 am on Monday May 30, 2018 at her home with her family after a courageous year and a half battle with Leukemia. She was born to Jack and Phyllis (Shedivy) Doperalski in Salisbury, Connecticut on September 18, 1964. She graduated from the Kewaunee High School in 1982. Lisa married Joe Bongle on Dec. 28, 1984.
She spent 14 years in the US Army Reserves (1983-1997) including active duty in Operation Desert Storm. While raising her family and working, Lisa earned her Bachelors of Business Administration from Franklin University in Columbus, OH in 2009, then earned her MBA from UW-Oshkosh in 2013.
Lisa was happiest spending quality time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed tending to her lovely grounds at home while volunteering with the Army Reserves picnic and, most recently volunteered her time to the Kewaunee County Zoological Society as secretary treasurer.
Lisa is survived by her husband Joe Bongle, daughter Kendal (Mike) Kittell, son Zack (fiancee Kimberly) Bongle; parents Jack and Phyllis (Shedivy) Doperalski; grandchildren Cameron, Collin, Kenzie Jo and Lyla; sisters Billee (John) Pelnar, Jill (Steve) Kudick; five sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews.
Lisa was preceded in death by her grandchildren Eric and Payton Kittell, nephew Justin Pelnar and two brothers-in-law Robert and Richard Bongle.
Lisa chose to not have any services. There will be a private family gathering held at a later date.
The SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, assisted the family with arrangements.
