Glenn Orvin Guilette, 75, Algoma, passed away December 13, 2017. He was born April 11, 1942 in Algoma to Edwin and Dorothy (Beaurain) Guilette.
On February 23, 1963, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Olson at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma. After high school, Glenn attended NWTI, worked as an electrician and then as a butcher, eventually re-joining his father at Guilette Electric. Glenn was a self-employed electrician until his retirement in 2004.
Glenn was an avid outdoorsman belonging to Whitetails Unlimited, the Black Ash gun Club and multiple wildlife organizations. He went hunting our west with varying friends and family members for over 41 consecutive years. He was a long time hunter's safety instructor, and took great pride in the home he built and the land around it. Glenn loved going to his children's events and decades later, faithfully attended his grandchildren's school and sporting events.
Glenn is survived by his wife, three children Loni (Jeff), Chris (Kaye) and Mike (Loretta); nine grandchildren Rebecca (Ryan), Elizabeth, Anna; Mathew, Grace, Daniel; Courtney, Makayla and Sydnee. He is further survived by his sister Virginia Leanna and brother-in-law Larry Vandertie.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Marlene LaRoche and Sandy Vandertie.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit for the kindness and care they have provided for Glenn.
Family and friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma from 9:30 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2017 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM with Rev. Peter Stryker officiating.
