Obituary for Anna Mae Blaha

Anna Mae Blaha, Algoma WI, age 90, was a fiesty, spirited, colorful lady with a big heart, she lived simply and gave generously until ill health in her later years. A very strong woman of great faith, she passed on to her eternal reward Wednesday August 29, 2018.

Born February 13, 1928 one of seven children in the Town of Sevastopol to Charles and Eva Sacotte. She attended Algoma Grade school and graduate Algoma High School in 1947. In 1951 she married John A. Blaha and her love for children brought them three sons while putting herself thru college at the age of 38. She attended Door/Kewaunee County Normal School where she graduated with a two year teaching degree. She furthered her education thru Silver Lake College with a Bachelors Degree in Teaching. Her teaching career started at Sandy Bay School and then Marquette Middle School for 20 yrs. She then generously volunteered in her retirement, several years at St. Mary’s grade school Algoma.

Anna had many favorite pass times...crocheting afghans gave her special enjoyment, not only making them but especially in giving them! Her second passion was music, and most certainly a love for Irish. With an already extensive collection, there were always request and rummage sales for more books, tapes and/or CD’s. An avid reader, she loved to do crossword puzzles, watch old movies and play pinochle with her family.

Anna is survived by her family John R and Mary, Kewaunee; James and Julie, Kewaunee; their children Justin; Brooke (Mike) Reichmann all of Milwaukee; and son Jeff, Algoma. She is further survived by sister June Sacotte Bay and sister-in-law Germaine Holub Blaha both of Algoma, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John A Blaha July 9, 1990; siblings Fern (Clarence) Kaus, Hubert (Laverne) Sacotte, Johanna ( Arthur)Schley, Christine (Roland)Graf and John Sacotte. In-laws Ben Blaha,
